Whales & This Lake
Whales & This Lake is a Norwegian electropop band. The group was founded in 2014 and consists of Hans Olav Settem (vocals, synth bass), Max Peder Brekke (guitar, synth and sampling), Anders Søvik Hjelden (drums, percussion og electronics).〔Murphy, Sarah (2015) "(Whales & This Lake - Gold (video) )", Exclaim!, 29 June 2015. Retrieved 11 July 2015〕 They released their debut single "Sahara Blind" on 26 January 2015 on Koke Plate. The single was picked up by national radio, NRK P3, and was one of the most played songs on Norwegian radio in the following months. The music video was also nominated for "Best Norwegian Music Video" in the Norwegian Short Film Festival. On 29 May 2015 the band's second single "Gold" was released.〔 The single was featured by Spotify on four of their biggest playlists.〔 Both singles were produced by Canadian producer Digory Smallz (with whom they are working on their debut album),〔 and mastered by Greg Calbi.
